What Your Finger Length Says About Your Hormones And Personality

Think you know yourself like the back of your hand? Take another look at your hand and think again.

This new personality test will tell you things about yourself that are inherently true. This is real nature vs. nurture material right here, and this test points all of its fingers at nature. According to studies, you can tell personality traits just from comparing the length of your fingers. It’s also a great way to tell if someone you just met is going to mesh well with you or not.

Instead Of Shaking Hands…

So take a look at your hands (or your friends’ hands) and see what’s naturally true about you. The first study I looked into was fairly direct and to-the-point (puns totally intended). They may not have “nailed” it, but they opened my eyes (if not my hand) to the relations between personality and hand shape.

This is no palm-reading; you don’t need to know the difference between a strong life line and the line of destiny. All you need to do is look at your hand and compare the length of your index finger to the length of your ring finger.

Three Finger Salute

Just by looking you can tell which finger is the longest, which makes this a quick and fun personality test.

A) The results are in: you are very attractive. Others find you charming, and you are decisive and aggressive when it comes to risk taking. Supposedly it has been found that people with longer ring fingers make more money than people with shorter ring fingers. Improved athletic ability and sense of direction have also been linked to the longer ring finger. All of these traits are likely due to a prenatal surge of testosterone.

B) If your ring finger is shorter than your index, you are very confident. This may be due to your decreased risk of cancer, or your better joints. People in this category have a lower risk of knee osteoarthritis, especially in women. Studies show that people with shorter ring fingers enjoy solitude but appreciate and accept attention from those around them, which is good because they are not likely to make the first move in a relationship.

C) These peoples’ fingers didn’t want any conflict, so they stayed the same length. Makes sense, seeing as those with equal sized ring and index fingers tend to not like conflict. Peace-loving, well organized, and faithful, when your fingers are the same size you seem to be more understanding and want to get along with everybody. These people also seem to be more caring and sensitive in relationships.

So there you have it – what your finger length really says about your personality. Share this little trick with your friends and have them eating out of the palm of your hand!

Just remember: when you’re pointing a finger at someone, there are three pointing back at you. But it’s the size of the fingers that counts.
