Pregnant Woman Survived Breast Cancer Using This One Natural Treatment
This woman suffered from aggressive breast cancer and had “a tumor the size of a grapefruit.”
When she found out in 2012, she was also four months pregnant.
Anne Marie Browne admitted that being diagnosed is “one of the worst things you can ever hear.” Her whole life was drastically upturned and became a lot more difficult.
But there was one thing that helped Anne through her difficult time in the fight against cancer.
Her secret weapon? Bikram yoga.
Bikram yoga, or hot yoga, uses yoga in hot conditions to help keep a healthy body and mind.
There have been reported benefits of preventing illness through bikram yoga, but it in no way is a cure for cancer.
Instead, bikram yoga helps improve the mind and body and, for Anne Marie, was it a real life changer.
“I would have been lost without it… as my mother says, ‘we all have our crosses to bear’ but bikram yoga changed my life, it made me more determined, patient and strong.”
Anne Marie does admit that her initial experience of the sweaty practice wasn’t enjoyable. And if anyone has tried hot yoga, I’m sure the reaction is the same.
With high temperatures and sometimes impossible stretches, hot yoga can at first be straining. But the benefits are enormous and her choice to continue changed her life forever.
Anne Marie not only cured her back pain of 16 years with bikram yoga, but was also able to learn how to prevent any oncoming pain as well.
The most important lesson she learned from hot yoga was physical awareness.
Anne Marie knew something was wrong.
Bikram yoga makes you aware of your own body. And while she was pregnant with her son Andre, she knew something was off, but countless visits to the doctor had them telling her she was fine.
Her own physical awareness proved to be right in the end, when she found a lump in her breast only four months into her pregnancy.
Overcoming surgery and battling cancer would seem almost impossible while carrying a baby.
But Anne Marie kept practicing bikram yoga throughout the nightmare and came out on top.
“There’s a lot of research now that shows the benefits of yoga,” she says, “especially for cancer patients.”
Chemotherapy causes a lot of sickness, not to mention the morning sickness she had to go through with her pregnancy.
But bikram yoga is especially great at ebbing away the nausea. You may find that many pregnant women take up yoga to help stop their morning sickness.
Anne Marie’s doctor also said her cancer medication might make her “go a bit batty”, but the mood enhancing qualities of yoga have left her feeling energetic and lively.
Anne Marie has since opened her own yoga studio where she teaches the physical, mental, and emotional benefits to bikram yoga.
You can bet she’s also probably teaching Andre, now a healthy two year old, some of the great benefits as well!
